G Hotel is proud to announce that its General Manager, Michael Hanratty, was awarded the National Honorary Member Certification by the Society of The Golden Keys Malaysia (SOTGKM) during the Society’s 17th Annual General Meeting (AGM) & Education Day 2026 held at Sunway Hotel Georgetown, Penang.
The recognition was presented during a formal certification ceremony attended by hospitality leaders, representatives from the Malaysia Hotel Association (Penang Chapter), General Managers from leading hotels, and key industry stakeholders from across Malaysia.
The National Honorary Member Recognition is reserved for distinguished individuals who have demonstrated exceptional contributions and unwavering support to both the national and international
initiatives of the Society of The Golden Keys Malaysia affiliated with UICH Les Clefs d’Or, Paris.
Michael was recognised for his outstanding dedication and meaningful contributions towards advancing the Society’s mission locally and internationally, reflecting his continued commitment to excellence, collaboration, leadership, and the development of the hospitality industry.
Sharing his thoughts during the event, Michael reflected on his journey in hospitality and his admiration for the concierge profession throughout the years.
“My very first job in hospitality was as a concierge. Over the past 35 years, I have had the great pleasure of witnessing and respecting the growth and professionalism of the concierge community, especially here in Penang,” said Michael.
Also, in attendance at the event were Syahreezal Kamaruddin, Director of Rooms and Thomas Ch’ng, Director of Human Resources, who were honoured to participate and share in the meaningful occasion alongside industry peers and hospitality leaders.
