Passengers arriving at the Penang International Airport (PIA) were pleasantly surprised with goody bags yesterday (March 23) in conjunction with ongoing Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations and Visit MalaysiaYear 2026.
Similar ceremonies were held at airports in Selangor, Johor, Kedah, Perak, Sabah and Sarawak.
Present to hand over the goodies at the PIA was Dato Yeoh Soon Hin Deputy Chairman of Tourism Malaysia and his team along with tourism industry stakeholders.
Among them were Pn Salinda Sany, Senior Director of Strategic Planning Division, Tourism Malaysia, Ms Yasmin Faezah Samsudin, Director of Corporate Communication Division, John Kim, MAH Penang Chapter Hon. Secretary, Andy Lau – President MyBha Penang Chapter, Ms Prevathy Muruvin, MOTAC Penang, Tourism Malaysia Northern Region Director Abdul Hadi Che Man, Dr Mary Ann Haris, Penang Centre of Medical Tourism among others.
Adding colour to the ceremony was VM mascots Wira and Manja. The goody bags contained souvenirs and food items. Excited passengers also took the opportunity to pose with Wira and Manja.
