The RM180 million Iconic Marjorie Hotel, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel held its soft opening ceremony officiated by Penang Chief Minister YAB Chow Kon Yeow and a host of VIP guests.
Among them were the State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy, YB Wong Hon Wai, the Consul General of China in Penang HE Zhou Youbin, George Varughese, Market Vice President, Marriott International, Yeoh Soo Hin, Vice President Asset management Marriott International, James Tan, Managing Director of Iconic Worldwide, Kevin Cheah, Group General Manager of Iconic Marjorie Hotel, Penang Island City Council Mayor Dato A Rajendran,
The 32-storey hotel which pays homage to the Baba-Nyonya culture is the second hotel under the group following their first hotel being the Iconic Hotel on mainland Penang.

They have a total of 298-rooms including 32 junior suites and six Executive Suites, other facilities are their gymnasium, spa, infinity pool, steam room, among others. It also features its 850 people capacity grand ballroom along with six other meeting and function rooms.
Additional features of the hotel include its all-day dining Tiffin Hall, Loom and Leafs lobby lounge and the Senses bar.
In congratulating the management of the hotel, Chow hailed the impressive number of tourists visiting Penang.

Meanwhile, Varughese added that with its distinctive design, inspired by local culture and heritage, Iconic Marjorie Hotel perfectly embodies the spirit of Tribute Portfolio- a celebration of individuality and connection.
“It also represents our vision of combining global expertise with local authenticity to create destinations that resonate deeply with travelers.
“This hotel is a shining example of our commitment to setting new benchmarks in hospitality while embracing the vibrant spirit of the communities we are privileged to be part of”, he said.
