Ipoh-born Sam Poh Choo or simply Sam to friends is the new Director of Sales and Marketing (DOSM) for the Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa Langkawi.
Although based in Kuala Lumpur, she often travels to Langkawi to meet up with clients, travel agents and guests too.
Sam has worked in several hotels and resorts in Kuala Lumpur and also in Terengganu.
Her last posting was at The Taaras Beach Resort & Spa Resort on the Redang Island as the Director of Sales & Marketing.
“I was in charge of formulating comprehensive sales and marketing strategies aligned with company main objectives, especially driving budgeted ADR to maximize revenue and market share across individual properties or locations within the cluster targeting niche and luxury clientele and approach.
“Other duties included leading, mentorship and managing a team of sales and marketing professionals across the cluster, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure individual and collective success”, she shared with Penang Hyperlocal when met at the Pelangi Resort Beach & Spa recently.
She had also served at the Fraser Place Kuala Lumpur & Fraser Residence Kuala Lumpur as their Cluster DOSM.
Prior to this she had served at the Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur, Prince Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur, Berjaya Times Square Hotel & Convention Centre, PARKROYAL Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Crown Princess Kuala Lumpur and also with the Star Cruises.
When she finds some free time, Sam likes to travel with the whole family so that she can spend quality time with them. Sometimes they go out for family outings and camping too.
Her last visit out of the country was to Thailand where she enjoyed the sights, scenery and local food there.
