The INFINITY8 Reserve co-working space launched its very first branch in Georgetown, Penang which also marks their first facility in the Northern Region too.
Located at the iconic building along No 2, Beach Street, they offer a variety of co-working space facilities and services to the business community.
Present to launch the event was Penang Chief Minister YAB Chow Kon Yeow along with the State Exco for Infrastructure, Transport and Digital, YB Zairil Khir Johari along with Lee Sheah Liang, co-founder and chief executive officer of INFINITY8 and a host of dignitaries.
Chow in his opening remarks congratulated and thanked INFINITY8 for choosing Penang as their preferred destination to invest.
“The state for decades now has been a “natural magnet” for E&E and semicon sector but today signifies a turning in our efforts to diversify our growing economy.
“Co-working spaces could be said to have mushroomed since the rise of digitalisation. They have become increasingly relevant driven by the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Popularised by millennials and Gen-Zs, digital nomads work remotely, with two criteria, stable Internet connectivity and a conducive working space”, said Chow.
He also highlighted that according to the Nomad Index 2023, Penang is ranked 10th out of 50 cities globally to live, work and travel, ahead of Kuala Lumpur.
In the meantime, INFINITY8 offers some 25,000 sq ft of space housed in a heritage building. The building was the former Standard Chartered Bank premises.
INFINITY8 also offers essential support services such as administration, IT and legal assistance which will appeal to potential investors.
“The Reserve series offers the highest level of comfort and best-in-class amenities, on top of 24-hour access, administrative support, and parcel collection services.
“Unique features of this location include a quiet breakout zone, private phone booths and a snooze lounge, all designed to enhance productivity and well-being while preserving the building’s heritage”, said Lee.
Meanwhile, Lee also shared that they are planning to expand with two more branches in Kuala Lumpur and another in Johor Bahru thus making their inventory to 13 branches nationwide soon.
