The DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Penang has a new Commercial Manager – Ms Xian Zhang.
She hails from TaiyuanCity, Shanxi City, China and her appointment took effect last month (July 2024).
Prior to coming to Penang, her last posting was at the Hilton Shanghai as the Senior Cluster Revenue Manager at the Revenue Management Consolidated Centre (RMCC).
The role involved supporting over 15 plus hotels across the South East Asian region and managing multiple markets and brands.
She left her hometown after high school to attend university in Beijing.
“I later pursued a Master’s degree in the United States and eventually returned to Shanghai to begin my journey with the Hilton Group.
Her first impressions on Penang have been very positive and is looking forward to her new role everyday.
“My recent experiences in Penang left a deep impression on me. The warmth, hospitality, and open-mindedness of the people there were remarkable.
“I also enjoyed the natural beauty and ocean views. I am confident that I will have a wonderful journey here in Penang.
In her free time, Xian enjoys running and recently picked up tennis, finding it a fun challenge.
She is alo a big fan of stand-up comedy. As a food enthusiast, Xian loves exploring new cuisines too. Penang will surely be a new food challenge for her.
On a personal note, she is an adventurous spirit, once embarking on a week-long solo road trip and even setting a personal record for driving for 11 hours !
