Five major convention centres in the Asian region signed a Memorandum of Collaboration (MOC) to synergise their efforts to draw big events
Dubbed the “Asia Venue Alliance: or AVA, they hope to set the stage for a new era in the business events venues across Asia.
This revolutionary collaboration includes the founding members, Ariyana Convention Centre Danang from Vietnam, Bali Nusa Dua Convention Centre from Indonesia, International Convention Centre Tainan from Taiwan, Borneo Convention Centre Kuching from Sarawak and the Setia SPICE Convention Centre from Penang,Malaysia.
Representing the latter was Francis Teo, who is also the chairman of the Asia Venue Alliance.
“I am proud to be one of the first co-founders of this alliance and hope that this alliance, events from all over the world will lock to Asia.
“Our collective efforts have borne fruit and Asia is now well-positioned to be a global hub for world-class business events.
“The momentous occasion also signifies the beginning of a new era in the business events industry across Asia,” said Teo in his opening address.
Representing Bali Nusa Dua Convention Centre was Mdm Riyanthi Handayani, Gentzsch Andre Pierre from Ariyana Danang International Tourism Complex, Jason Yeh chairman of ICC Tainan and Ms Premala Danapakiam representing BCCK.
The alliance is now hopeful for better collaboration, growth and excellence in the business events sector.
The partnership will also enhance the reputation and competitiveness of the participating venues and pave the way for a significant impact on the industry in Asia.
