The newly elected chairman of the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) for Penang Chapter, Ms Carolyn Leong and her team made a courtesy call on the Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB), Penang Global Tourism (PGT) and the Tourism Malaysia (TM) Northern Region office recently.
She officially took office with effect July 15, 2023.
At PCEB, they were greeted by the chief executive officer of PCEB, Ashwin Gunasekeran and his team.
They discussed matters of interest and further collaboration to promote tourism and the state’s hospitality industry profile.
Leong also met up with TM’s Northern Region director Shahrul Aman and his deputy Siti Hajar to further discuss matters of interest.

They then made a stopover at the Penang Global Tourism office to meet their chief executive officer, Ooi Chok Yan and his team.
“We hope that our discussion will bring mutual benefit to the industry stakeholders and also our members.
“MATTA and its members on our part will also play our role to promote the tourism industry so that everyone will benefit,” said Leong.
In the meantime, the annual MATTA Fair in Penang will be held on Sept 30th and Oct 1st, 2023 at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre.
Various travel booths at the fair will offer attractive packages and deals for potential holiday makers.
Meanwhile, travel and tourism stakeholders can also start booking their booths from the MATTA Penang office.
