Penang’s Smart Parking (PSP) app has won international recognition.
The win was announced at the International Convention On Quality Circles (ICQCC) which was held in Jakarta, Indonesia from November 15 till 18, 2022.
The good news was shared by State Exco for Housing, Local Government, Town and Country Planning, YB Jagdeep Singh Deo.
The ICQCC is held every year with the participation of countries like Singapore, China, India, Indonesia, Mauritius and Malaysia.
The aim of the gathering is to share new developments and innovations in the Asian region. Some 3,895 participants took part in the event.
The Penang Island City Council and the Seberang Perai City Council sent their delegation to this event.
The gold award for the PSP initiative is another recognition for our councils. I am sure that their spirit and morale will be boosted further,” said Jagdeep.
For the record, there are some 12,000 parking lots on the island and another 24,000 parking lots on the mainland.
“Todate, the PSP app has managed to collect RM46.49 million for both councils. This is part of our Penang Vision2030. The PSP app has also received other recognition like the MTEA Award on IoT Sensor for Smart Mobility Implementation in 2019 and the Penang Chief Minister Award’ in 2020,” added Jagdeep.
