Jagdeep presenting hampers to MBPP and MBSP workers

Short term homestays will not be allowed at apartments, condos and high-rise buildings in Penang.

The Penang state government has decided firmly against allowing the measure.

Penang State Exco for Housing, Local Government, Town and Country Planning, Jagdeep Singh Deo gave this confirmation at the appreciation ceremony for Penang City Council workers here.

“However, the decision for homestay in housing estates has not been finalized yet. The final decision will be made very soon,” he said.

In the meantime, he also thanked the frontliners working hard during the month of Ramadan. They will also work throughout the Hari Raya celebrations to keep Penang clean.

“We will always recognise their hard work and pray they remain safe and healthy, I am also happy to contribute to these hampers.

“I will also like to announce that our target of achieving 100 smart initiatives has already been surpassed with 102 to-date, which includes all our 23 government agencies transactions being fully cashless able, whereby we have nearly reached some 71.81 per cent of transactions done online at a total cost of RM227,082,848.31.

“Our Penang Smart Parking has also seen a very positive response, whereby even other States are coming to Penang to learn this application. Our new target is 150 smart initiatives in Penang by the end of the year.

Also present at the ceremony was MBSB mayor Azhar Arshad and MBPP secretary engineer Rajendran.
