With 150 dishes on their buffet counter, one cannot go wrong at the Light Hotel Penang’s “Santapan Warisan Melayu” Ramadan spread from April 13 to May 12, 2021.
And if you are wondering what is among the 150 dishes, they are a combination of local, international, traditional Malay dishes and Moroccan spread.
Among them are the Moroccan chicken with Daghmira, brochettes (meat in skewers), Harira (Moroccan lentis and chickpeas soup), Merguues (spicy lamb sausage), Whole baked fish and Moroccan roast lamb.
Leading the team is chef Halim Mohamad who has mastered the art of putting out soup gearbox Singapore style, ayam bawang d’light, kambing hitam manis, gulai kepala ikan, gulai ketam, gulai udang, dalca tulang kambing, gulai ayam nangka pucuk ubi , gulai ikan tempoyak, and “Daging Harimau Menangis” to name a few.
They also have a well-rounded mix of local delicacies comprising of Malay, Chinese and Indian dishes.
The buffet spread is priced at RM108 nett (adult), RM90 nett (senior citizen) and RM68 nett (child). There are also early bird vouchers at RM90 nett.
Meanwhile, the Rayyan band will perform nightly rendering Malay, Arabic, Nasyid and even Bollywood numbers.
“Guests planning to enjoy the buffet dinner are advised to book early as limited seats are available and they are expected to be sold out soon,” said general manager Raj Kumar.
