Job well done by the Shangri-La team
A team of 40 staff from the Shangri-La Rasa Sayang and Shangri-La Golden Sands, Penang embarked on a commendable mission to clean up the Penang Turtle Sanctuary at Pantai Kerachut in the Penang National Park.
It was in conjunction with “World Ocean Day” themed ‘Planet Ocean: Tides are Changing’ this year.
The group hiked four km to the sanctuary, where they collected six bags full of trash, mostly plastic bottles and dead tree branches to safeguard the landing area for turtles nesting.
The volunteers also painted and washed signboards and installed new signs reminding visitors to be more mindful when visiting the exhibition area.
They hope that their small effort would ease the turtle nesting process and enable hatchlings to return to the sea without any obstruction.
Syabas to the team as their efforts will go a long way to safeguard Mother Earth.
