By V. SivajiIn keeping with its tradition during the Christmas season, the “Time To Give” year-end festivities at the G Hotel saw them hosting children from the Salvation Army Penang Children’s Home.

In all, some 22 children and their caretakers from the home gathered at the Tree Bar to await their Christmas presents.

The kids were presented with much awaited goodies like school bags, pencil boxes, shoes, toys and other goodies.

Earlier, the hotel had invited staff and guests to donate towards the good cause by leaving the wish list of the children at their Xmas tree at the hotel’s ground floor.

In his welcoming speech, Michael Hanratty, the general manager of the hotel said that they are mindful to play their part as a caring corporate citizen.

“This tradition with the children has been carried out since the past 13 years and we are happy to host these kids at our hotel. The smiles on the faces of the children are worth our effort”, said Michael.

He also thanked doors and everyone who played a pivotal role in making the wishes of the children come true.

The children were also treated to a fine meal put out by the Food & beverage department of the hotel.

The appearance of Santa Claus and Santarina made the event more cheerful for the kids. Surely, the gathering brought fond memories for them.

Meanwhile, Becky Lurence, the Home Manager at the Salvation Army Penang Children’s Home expressed her gratitude for G Hotel for hosting the evening.

” I am thankful that the less fortunate children are loved and cared for by the society”, she said.
