A three-day photo exhibition on the horrors, destruction, suffering and images of the brave defiant people of the Ukraine was launched at the Straits Quay Retail Marina earlier today.

Gracing the occasion was former Governor of Penang Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas and other consul generals in Penang.

Among them were Penang Deputy Speaker Dr Amar Pritpal Abdullah, Consul General of Japan in Penang Kawaguchi Kawaguchi, Representative of the Consul of Royal Thai in Penang Khun Pimduan Nagaviroj, Consul of Bangladesh Dato Shaik Ismail Allaudin, Consul of Indonesia in Penang Pak Aryadi Ramadhan, Consul of Germany in Penang Dato Herbert Anton Weiler, Consul of Poland in Penang, Dato Seri Suppiah Manickam among others.

Hosting the event was Hon Consul of Ukraine in Penang, Datuk Seri Chuah Kim Seah and his team.

“From being a beautiful country, it is being destroyed due to the on-going war. Today marks the first anniversary of the war since it began on Feb 24, 2022.

“The objective of this exhibition is to draw attention to the damages of the full-scale Russian aggression,” said Chuah in his address.

Guests were able to take a closer look at the various photographs supplied by the Ukrainian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur.

Some 50 exclusive photos are on display for the benefit of the general public.

There is also a donation box for those who wish to support Ukrainians for medicine, food, and other basic necessities.

The exhibition is on till February 26, 2023. Entrance to the photo exhibition is free of charge.
