The Prestige Hotel here has turned its building facade into pink in support of its “Paint the Town Pink 2” in conjunction with Pinktober to raise awareness for breast cancer.

The event aims to bring the community together in support of the National Cancer Council Malaysia, or Majlis Kanser Nasional (MAKNA), through a series of impactful fundraising efforts.

Present to mark the occasion was the hotel’s general manager, Melvin Ooi, along with Dr Mary Ann Harris, executive director of PMED, Carolyn Leong, Penang MATTA chairman, Ravi Verman, representing MAKNA among other guests.

The hotel has also curated a selection of exclusive fundraising promotions that will run throughout October. These include specially tailored Pinkie Promise Affair, Room Bookings and events.

A portion of the proceeds generated from these offerings will be dedicated to MAKNA, aiding in the battle against breast cancer and supporting ongoing awareness efforts.

They are joined by several partners to support the good cause. Among them are Atlantic By Motion in Style, Fine Dreams Studio, Magic of Hakim Azman, Pop-Up Stores by Treasures of Sarawak, Allithing, Raj Antique, Cubby’s Moment, A.Nature.Crafts, Yunna and Art by Candy.

In his speech Ooi extended his deepest gratitude to several partners to make the event a success.

“We are proud to comeback and Paint the Town PINK with MAKNA this year. We recognize their efforts in raising awareness within our community, and we are eager to be part of the cause. I am incredibly proud of our team’s dedication to this cause and the positive impact we aspire to make”, added Ooi.

Meanwhile, Verman said that together with the Prestige Hotel, they can shine the light on a crucial cause.

“This initiative is a testament to our shared commitment to raising awareness and supporting those affected by breast cancer .

“Breast cancer is a formidable foe, impacting countless lives around the world. Yet, early detection and appropriate care can significantly improve outcomes.

“Together, we aim to create a ripple effect of awareness, encouraging individuals to prioritize their health, seek regular check-ups, and support those in need.

“Let us continue to work hand-in-hand to empower communities, break down stigma and create a future where breast cancer is no longer a threat”, he added.

Guests were treated to a fine dinner followed by a magic show while they dined.
