IJM Land Berhad (“IJM Land”), the developer of THE LIGHT Waterfront Penang, held the opening ceremony of its newly completed flyover, further improving access to its landmark waterfront development.

Present at the launch event was YB Connie Tan Hooi Peng, ADUN Seri Delima, T. Visvenathan, MBPP Councillor, Dato’ Ir. Khoo Teck Chong, Senior General Manager of IJM Land, Ms. Goh Su Yin, General Manager of IJM Land, Ir Tan Ling Jin, Chief Operating Officer of IJM Construction, along with the team from IJM.

Meanwhile, the existing dedicated bicycle lane within the area remains open to the public, promoting safer and more sustainable travel options.

The new one-way flyover provides motorists travelling towards George Town with direct access to the development, easing traffic congestion, improving accessibility and offering greater convenience for residents, visitors and daily commuters.

Built by IJM Land as part of its broader infrastructure programme, the flyover reflects the developer’s long-term commitment to supporting Penang’s growth through improved mobility and accessibility.

For everyone’s safety, motorists are advised to observe speed limits, follow directional signages and comply with temporary traffic measures during the familiarisation period. Cyclists using the existing bicycle lane are reminded to stay alert and dismount at intersections to ensure safe sharing of the road.

Additionally, the recently opened elevated road from Jalan Tunku Kudin (Bayan Lepas-bound) to THE LIGHT Waterfront Penang in July provided direct and seamless access for motorists travelling from Green Lane area into THE LIGHT Waterfront Penang.

Over the years, IJM Land has progressively upgraded road connectivity and surrounding infrastructure within THE LIGHT Waterfront Penang, laying the foundation for the major developments taking shape in the area.

With each milestone, THE LIGHT Waterfront Penang continues to transform into a vibrant destination that redefines Penang’s urban landscape while enriching the daily lives of its community.
