The managing director of Barons De Rothschild champagne, Mr Frederic Mairesse himself travelled all the way from France to preside over their champagne dinner held at the 5-star The Datai Langkawi recently.
The exclusive Barons De Rothschild champagne dinner gathering saw more than 35 guests attending.
The session was coupled with the T’LUR caviar which is Malaysia’s first luxury caviar brand dinner brought by the dynamic food and beverage department at the resort’s “The Dining Room”.
Guests sampled fine champagne choices in the backdrop of the lush rainforest surrounding the resort.
The five-course dinner commenced with a cocktail session where guests mingled freely to get to know each other.
Among those present were in-house guests and also representatives from the various premier hotels and resorts on the enchanting island.
Mairesse took time to explain the intricacies of the different batches of champagne served to guests.
Among the premium labels were the Barons De Rothchild, Concordia Brut, Barons De Rothchild, Extra Brut, Barons De Rothchild Blanc de Blancs, Barons De Rothchild, Brut Millesime 2016 and the Barons De Rothschild, Rare Collection Rose 2012.
The feast also included canapes and a caviar demo session.
Highlights of the lavish meal was Penang Coin Oysters, Scallops, Red Mullet with Masala Cream, Angus Tenderloin Fillets, Caramelized Onion Ice Cream, and finished with Soft Almond Cake, Cherry Tuile, Raspberry Compote, Goat Cheese Sorbet which were among the dessert highlights.
Also present was the general manager of The Datai Langkawi, Stephane Duvacher, The Datai Langkawi Hotel Manager, Jaya Nazreen, Berjaya Langkawi Resort general manager, Adrian Chung, Riyaz Group chief executive officer, Yap Lip Seng, managing director of S.H. Maju Sdn Bhd, Alfred Low among others.
The gastronomic champagne dinner session was put together by the passionate people at S.H Maju Sdn Bhd.
