The Taiwan Tourism Bureau held a roadshow in Penang to promote their island state as a premier tourism destination.
The team was headed by Abe Chou, director of Taiwan Tourism Bureau (Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Brunei) and its members.
The roadshow is following their successful participation in the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents Fair 2023 where they were declared the “Asia Featured Destination”.
Special focus was also placed on Bike & Train and Muslim Friendly tourism.
On this note there are some 342 hotels and restaurants who had obtained halal certification in Taiwan
Tourists from Malaysia are the largest inbound market from Southeast Asia for Taiwan with great potential for growth.
Taiwan offers a myriad of choices for visitors as they offer food, scenery, art, the weather, culture and other activities.
They also held a B2B session at the St Giles Wembley where more than 200 guests attended.
Representatives from tourism destinations and hotels from Taiwan had an opportunity to meet their trade partners at this session.
Earlier, the Taiwanese team also held a session with Penang Global Tourism (PGT) headed by its CEO, Ooi Chok Yan along with members from the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) Penang Chapter for a familiarization session.
