Some 80 deserving frontliners from various governmental departments were honoured at the StarCity Hotel in Alor Star recently.
The gathering also served to feature the hotel’s Ramadan buffet which will be starting from April 16 to May 8 at the Paddy Cafe.
Reasonably priced at RM39 (adult) and RM33 ( children/senior citizen), the spread features the best of local fare.
In his welcoming address, general manager, Eugene Dass said that it has been one year since we went through something no one in our lifetime have experienced.
“We are still battling the pandemic and you have been our heroes during these truly trying times.
“This past year was a time of uncertainty, time where life took a pause and for us in the hotel industry a time where travel stopped.
‘In the midst of all this and while we are still getting used to the new norm- StarCity also feel it’s a good time to pause and express our true heartfelt appreciation to all of you for being our shield of protection and confidence, ” said Dass.
He later called upon them to enjoy the wonderful spread prepared by their team of chefs.
Among them include kambing golek, briyani rice, curry chicken, seafood, mee goreng, a variety of local kueh and other kampung dishes. They also feature a “bersila” corner for those who want to enjoy their meals on the specially carpeted floor.
