Residents at Sri Tanjung apartment along Jalan Perak can now rejoice as they received RM310,000 to upgrade two of their lifts to benefit the dwellers there.
It will also be a boost for the children, elderly and disabled living there.
On hand to present the letters of approval was State Exco for Housing, Local Government, Town and Country Planning, YB Jagdeep Singh Deo.
The amount is actually 80% of the budget required to upgrade the lifts. Another 10% will also be borne by Jagdeep himself since he is also their state assemblyman.
As such, the balance if 10% only will be borne by the residents committee.
“I am very happy to be here at Pangsapuri Sri Tanjung for their upgrading of two (2) units of lift at a cost of RM310,000.00, whereby the State Government will assist with 80% of the cost and I as the state aAssemblyman will top up another 10%.
“As we continue with our work, we also expect the Federal Government to assist. In this regard, I have also issued a letter to them for an official response on our request for a sum of RM126.279 million for 157 projects, which is still outstanding to Penang,” said Jagdeep.
He also added that the state government will continue to ensure delivery of affordable housing in Penang (todate 138,545 units of various types of affordable housing ranging from low cost, low medium cost to affordable housing) and also maintenance of eligible housing.
