Shangri-La Rasa Sayang and Shangri-La Golden Sands, Penang welcomed the Lunar New Year in grand style, hosting a vibrant festive reception for 1,000 guests on the first day of Chinese New Year and the Year of the Horse. 

The celebration began with an auspicious Lion Eye-Dotting ceremony performed by Cluster General Manager Jegan Selvarajan, symbolically bringing the lions to life and ushering in good luck and prosperity for the year ahead. 

Moments later, the resort came alive with a lively lion dance parade that weaved through the grounds, joined by the ever-cheerful God of Wealth and God of Laughter, delighting guests along the way.

The energy soared with a lineup of captivating cultural performances, including an acrobatic lion dance, a dazzling mask-changing act, a majestic dragon dance, and impressive traditional Chinese acrobatics that drew applause from the crowd.

The festivities concluded on a high note with a spirited yee sang tossing ceremony, symbolising unity, prosperity, and togetherness as guests gathered to welcome the Lunar New Year with joy and optimism.

It was indeed a roaring start to a prosperous year ahead!
