Deepavali came early for some 40 kids from the Gurunatha Ashramam from Sungai Petani.
They were treated to new clothes and a fine lunch courtesy of the Listen Security Sdn Bhd as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.
Among the group were also some elderly folk from the home.
They were taken to VKN Sivasamy & Sons at Market Street here to pick out their new clothes in preparation of the up-coming Festival of Lights.
The kids had a field day and eagerly chose their new shirts and pants at the store.
The group were later taken to the Sivam Catering outlet in Ayer Itam and treated to a sumptuous lunch and pocket money too.
Also present was the director of Listen Security, S. Arumugam and his team to ensure that the kids and the elderly folk had a good time.
“We also carry out other CSR activities to benefit the needy and the underprivileged during other festive occasions like Hari Raya, Chinese New Year and Christmas too,” added Arumugam.
Also present was the managing director of VKN Sivasamy & Sons P. Ramalingam. He also sponsored one set of clothings for each of the children.
