With no means of income since the lockdown, it was a welcome relief for some 42 school bus operators in Paya Terubong, Penang when they were presented with food baskets to sustain through these difficult times.
The allocation was from assemblyman for the Paya Terubong constituency.
State exco, Yeoh Soon Hin who is also the assemblyman for Paya Terubong carried out the corporate social responsibility (CSR) project.
“The closure of schools since the pandemic has resulted in the loss of income and affected the livelihood of the school bus drivers.
“We hope that this contribution will help them in these tough time. “We will try to source more aid for them,” said Yeoh in a press statement.
He also called on non-governmental organizations (NGO) and corporates to assist the needy community in the society.
