Santa and Snowman made out of old tyres and discarded plastic material

Check out the Christmas decorations put up at Penang City Hall entrance at the Esplanade which is made entirely of recycled material.


The structure of Santa Claus and a snowman will greet visitors there. They are brightly colored in red, white and green befitting the occasion.


Dubbed the “Upcycle Project”, all materials used are discarded plastic, old tyres, old carpets, PVC, pipes, cardboards, broken vases and bottle caps.


“Since Padang Kota is one of the frequently visited places on the island, the project will help instill the importance of recycling,” said a council press statement.


Prior to this, “Project Minion” was set up at Jesselton Park.
The innovative project received the support and encouragement of the Penang mayor and councillors.

Upcoming major celebrations will also their themes made out of such materials.
