Shoppers visiting the Queensbay Mall will be greeted by a myriad of pink cherry blossoms, red lanterns, butterflies and a porcelain shaped hut in conjunction with the up-coming Chinese New Year celebrations. 

Leading the launch ceremony yesterday evening was Ms Selina Ng, Head of Retail for CapitaLand Investment (Malaysia) and Peter Chan, general manager. 

Joining them were members of the media and a host of shoppers and guests.

This year’s theme at the mall is “Blooming Bliss” depicting the oriental spring blooms as it marks the beginning of celebration of happiness, abundance and prosperity.

The mall;s central atrium has been transformed into a blooming bliss garden, filled with cherry blossoms, red lanterns, butterflies and a porcelain shaped hut as the centrepiece. The enchanting flowers are also retractable, opening their beautiful petals for visitors to admire the blossom.

The sea of red and pink colours gives visitors a feel of vibrance and energy in keeping with the celebration for all. Meanwhile, the porcelain figures which have its origin from ancient China are a much revered treasure, synonymous with royalty.   

Visitors to the mall will be able to take photos and selfies to be part of their memorable experience this year.

Highlight of the ceremony was the traditional mask changing performance followed by the lion dance. Ng and Chan performed the “inking of the dragon eye” ceremony to get the celebrations going.

 The mall has also set up exclusive booths selling traditional snacks, extensive line up of events, activities and rewards programmes for shoppers to partake.

Among them include Blooming Bliss hamper street, mask changing performance, lion dance, CNY flashmob among others. Local artists will also make their presence for the meet and greet sessions.
