In a commendable community programme to nurture the younger generation to excel in tennis, the Pro Ace Tennis Academy has been conducting coaching lessons for the past few years.
The academy was founded by K. Manimaran who is also the head coach. He is assisted by a team of 10 professional coaches.
The 5th edition of the coaching classes was launched by the Deputy Minister of Law and Institutional Reforms, YB Ram Karpal, Deputy Chief Minister 11 of Penang, YB Jagdeep Singh Deo along with Predeep state MIC chairman Datuk Dhinagaran among others.
This time around some 100 children from the ages of six to 16 years of age have enrolled.
In his opening remarks, Ram Karpal congratulated the academy on their endeavour to conduct coaching lessons and urged them to become champions in the near future.
“I am happy to see the good turnout from the kids and also the support of the parents for this project,” he added.
Meanwhile, Jagdeep in turn added he too comes from a family of tennis players although they have become rusty now. However, he promised to look up to coach Manimaran to brush up his game.
Manimaran sias that they train the children from beginners to intermediate level and further to represent their schools and the state level.
“Our sincere gratitude and appreciation to YB Ram Karpal, YB Jagdeep, YB Daniel Gooi, Restoran Jaya Tritoni Sports for sponsoring tennis racquets, attire and court bookings.
“The training sessions will also help the children develop positively in their mental, social, physical and educational aspects,” said Manimaran.
The children were also presented with certificates of participation followed by a hearty lunch treat
Lending moral support at the gathering were the parents, relatives and friends of the children.
