In line with safeguarding the nation’s culture and arts a series of workshops were held at the Cititel Penang.
The event was organised by the State Culture and Arts department.
Present to launch the gathering was Penang State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy, YB Yeoh Soon Hin.
Also present was the department’s state director Shapee Che Embi along with the Penang Director for the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) Penang Director Jonathan Freddy Bagang, Tourism Malaysia Penang Director Shahrul Aman Sabir Ahmad, Deputy Director Siti Hajar among others.
Yeoh welcomed the Penang State government’s participation in the process.
The National Culture Policy is important to preserve our identity for our future generation. We hope our culture and arts will be safeguarded not only at national level but also at international level.
“The move will help further attract tourists and travellers to the state,” added Yeoh.
Some 120 participants from the various government department and private sector were seen at the event.
