The comforts of the Planters Lounge serves as the perfect setting to enjoy the Asian Hi-Tea at the Eastern & Oriental Hotel in Penang. 

While there, diners can also enjoy the sights and scenery over the Penang Straits as they enjoy their meals with family or friends.

Located on the sixth floor of the premier hotel, the irresistible list of local favourites fill the buffet counters for guests to enjoy and partake.

They can start off with the appetizers offering Rojak Buah along with Chili Flakes, Rojak Sauce, Crispy Yu Char Koay, Crushed Peanut, Vietnamese Rice Paper Roll with Sweet Chili dip.

Over at the Sushi platter, there are Uramaki, Vegetable Maki, Inari Sushi, Gunkan Nigiri Salmon and Tuna & Prawn. they are accompanied With Chuka Wakame, Pickled Ginger, Wasabi & Soy Sauce.

The ever popular Peking Duck which is synonymous with the E&O Hotel comes with Pancake, Cucumber, Spring Onion and tasty Duck Sauce.

As for pastries, the Potato Curry Puff with Mint Yogurt, along with Popiah Goreng Chili Chuka, Pandan Chicken and Roti Jala is served with chicken curry.

Over at the Dim Sum station, look out for the BBQ Chicken Pau, and Steam Siew Mai served with Sweet Sauce and Thai Chili Sauce.

The Noodle Station offers Curry Mee, Hokkein Mee or Laksa on a rotational basis. Add ons include Prawn Meat, Fish Cake, Water Spinach, Beansprout, Chili Paste, Fried Shallot.

The ever popular Char Koay Teow will be made for you from the wok too. And do not the Prawn Nasi Lemak “Kukus” which is steamed in Pandan & Coconut Scented Rice with Prawn Sambal, Fried Anchovies, Cucumber, Hard Boiled Chicken Egg, Peanuts accompantment.

As for desserts, there are the Fruit Tartlet, Assorted Kuih, Chendol Cake, Sago Gula Melaka, Palm Sugar & Coconut Milk Crème Caramel in Chinese Tea Cup Bubur Pulut Hitam, Hot Lychee Kang, Portuguese Egg Tart, Chiffon Cheese, Cakes, Churros with Kaya Dip.

Then the ice cream corner brings several flavours toppings and waffle cones while the fruit station has a seasonal cut fruits platter with sour Plum Powder and whole fruits.

To wash down your food there are Teh Tarik, Nutmeg Juice, Bandung / Soya Bean

The Asian Hi-Tea buffet is only available on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) and is priced at RM98 nett per person. Senior citizens and children pay RM68 nett
