Penang State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy, applauds the consideration of the federal government to review the strict requirements of Malaysia My Second Home(MM2H) and also taking proactive actions towards allowing visa-on-arrival (VOA) for the international visitors from China and India.

YB Yeoh Soon Hin was referring to the recent discussion between the Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing and Home Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Ruji Ubi to review conditions being imposed now.

Yeoh believes this review is a crucial step in the right direction towards creating a more welcoming environment for international visitors.

“Imagine how much it would be beneficial for our country, if we implement our policies to achieve effectiveness and efficiency in this challenging economic climate. The review for MM2H and VOA will be critical components for our country and I hope that people will start recognising their potential,” stated Yeoh.

He has always been a strong advocate for the idea to have a more streamlined and efficient process for immigration that will encourage more visitors to come to Malaysia, thus boosting all industries, tourism included and promoting economic growth for the country as a whole.

The federal government’s commitment to re-evaluate both MM2H and VOA underscores Yeoh’s commitment and support for progressive immigration policies in the direction of positioning Malaysia as one of the top welcoming countries in Southeast Asia.
