Other than working at providing affordable homes for residents in Penang, the Penang State Government also distributes food baskets to the needy.
One such presentation was held at the Nordin Street where the Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow along with State Exco for Housing, Local Government and Town and Country Planning, Jagdeep Singh Deo were present.
“We will continue to assist all Penangites during this pandemic. Thanks to our CM Chow Kon Yeow and state assemblyman for Pengkalan Kota, Daniel Gooi who are present at our Penang Housing Board’s assistance programme for 1,000 needy households in our public housing schemes, which includes Taman Free School, Ampang Jajar, Padang Tembak, Taman Manggis, Desa Wawasan, Taman Bagan Jaya, Pangsapuri Pelangi, Pangsa Jawi III, ending today here at Noordin Street Ghaut.
“This is part of the RM176 million economic package already allocated by the state,” said Jagdeep.
He added that they will continue to deliver affordable housing whereby todate 131,391 units will be made available. We will also assist with maintenance of such public housing, whereby todate, some 528 projects have been approved at a sum of RM293.9 million.
He also hoped the Federal Government will assist accordingly to their request for RM134 million for such maintenance of our public housing schemes in Penang.
