Going the extra mile to promote Middle Eastern tourism

In order to better cater for the growing Middle Eastern market, the Penang State Government has launched a booklet in Arabic language to assist these visitors.

The booklet includes detailed information on Penang’s attractions, accommodations and activities thus making it an excellent resource for business-to-business (B2B0 and business-to-consumer (B2C) travelers.

On hand at the launching ceremony at the Queensbay Mall was Penang State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy YB Yeoh Soon Hin, Tourism Malaysia Northern Region deputy director Puan Siti Hajar, Penang Global Tourism (PGT) chief executive officer O oi Chok Yan and CapitaLand Investment (M) general manager Mall Management, Peter Chan among others.

The brochure version is a summarized version of the booklet that will cater for needs of the independent traveler, to provide information on weather, places to stay and also public transport.

“We believe that the updated Arabic booklet and brochure will be a valuable resource for the Arabic speaking visitors, enabling them to make the best of their time in Penang.

“The initiative aligns with the state’s commitment in providing exceptional hospitality and creating memorable experiences for everyone who visits Penang,” said Yeoh.

He also expressed his excitement that this is just the beginning of a series of collaterals with multiple languages that will be in pace to suit the needs of different language speakers.
