Penang state government ensures to take care of all faiths

In keeping with their policy of promoting an all inclusive society, the Penang State Government made a donation of RM50,000 towards the St. John Britto Church in Datuk Keramat.

Present to hand over the contribution was State Exco for Housing, Local Government, Town and Country Planning, YB Jagdeep Singh Deo.

The contribution is also timely as followers of the Christian faith celebrated Good Friday.

“Happy Easter to all those celebrating this auspicious day. 

“We are committed to assist all communities, whereby to-date we have allocated some nearly RM10.52 million for 245 project, including Chinese temples at a number of 124 projects, Indian temples at a number of 64 projects, Churches at a number of 46 projects and Gurdwaras at a number of 11 projects.

“It is therefore timely that we contribute RM50,000 to St. John Britto Church here towards their roofing work, upkeep and  other renovations,” said Jagdeep at the presentation ceremony.

Also present was Penang Eurasian Association (PEA) president Dato Aloysius Gasper and his team.
