The Penang Port Commission (PPC) embarked on a trend setting initiative to became the first port in the country to go digital with its launch ceremony being heldĀ during its “Fraternity Night” gathering at the Ascott Gurney Penang.
Some 400 guests gathered at the glittering ceremony.
Among those present were those from the forwarding community, logistics and related industry players.
Guest-of-honour was the secretary general of the Transport Ministry, M. Jana Santhiran who represented the Transport Minister Anthony Loke.
Also present was Dr V. Vijayaindiaran, general manager of Penang Port Commission, Dato Seri Syed Mohamad Syed Murtaza, chairman of Penang Port Sdn Bhd, Captain Mohamad Halim Ahmed, director of Marine Department Malaysia, Patrick Martinent from Cargoflow Sdn Bhd among others.
In his address Jana hailed PPC as a vibrant and innovative organization which also sets new bench marks for the industry.
Later, he also joined hands with other VIP guests at the launch ceremony of the digital app which is hailed a a trend setter for the industry.
The evening also saw the handing over of the anti-bribery MOUs between PPC and several related industry players.
Guests were hosted with a live band performance and special appearance by local artist Jaclyn Victor who rendered several evergreen numbers.
Lucky winners at the lucky draw session walked away with attractive gifts and prizes.
