The Penang state government is leaving nothing to chance as they launched the Penang multilingual brochures and Merdeka travel deals to cater for the ever growing number of tourists from various corners of the world.
The new brochure is expected to assist travellers and visitors during their visit and stay here.
The brochure ares available in 14 languages, namely, Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mandarin, French, Bahasa Indonesia, Japanese, Tamil, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Arabic, Korean Thai, Vietnamese German and Spanish.
Present at the launch ceremony held at the St Giles Wembley Hotel here was State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy YB Wong Hon Wai.
“This extensive coverage reflects our sincere commitment to offering an accessible travel experience for visitors worldwide.
“These friendly and user-friendly brochures cover every aspect of Penang and Seberang Perai, offering curated itineraries. They highlight Penang’s iconic attractions and provide comprehensive information for visitors.
” For tourism industry players, these multilingual brochures are valuable tools for serving international tourists. hotels, travel agents, restaurants and event organisers can use these brochures.
Wong also hailed the ever increasing number of direct flights from China and other airlines coming to the Penang International Airport. Another upcoming airline to offer direct flights will be the Hong Kong Express Airways expected in November.
“Penang not only attracts tourists from China but also from UAE along with Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia as well as European and American tourists arriving via flight and cruise ships”, he said adding that with the collective efforts of all stakeholders, Penang’s tourism sector will reach even greater heights in the future. .
Also present was the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) Penang Chapter chairman Dato Tony Goh, Penang Global Tourism (PGT) chief executive officer Ooi Cok Yan, Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) chief executive officer, Ashwin Gunasekeran, Tourism Malaysia Northern region director, Shahrul Aman and MOTAC Penang director Dr Annuar Mohammad.
Others lending support was MATTA Penang chairman Ms Carolyn Leong, Lone Pine/NEO+ Hotel Penang general manager, Dato Gulab Mahatam Rai among other industry players.
