Despite entering the endemic, the general public have been reminded to observe the standard operating procedures SOPs).
The reminder came from State Exco for Housing, Local Government, Town and Country Planning, Jagdeep Singh Deo who was on his visit to Chowrasta Market yesterday.
“As we enter into the endemic period, as of today (April 1, 2022), we must also continue to self-regulate by ensuring Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are complied with.
“Both our City Councils have been instructed to continue to monitor that such SOPs are complied with as per the directive by the Federal Government, which includes the ten requirements, Wearing face masks in public places, Operating hours according to the business permit or license; Maintaining hand hygiene, Conducting Covid-19 screening according to the National Testing Strategy, Managing suspected or confirmed Covid-19 cases according to the Ministry of Health’s guidelines; Using MySejahtera and MySJTrace for admission registration; Maintaining physical distancing of one metre, Ensuring good ventilation system, Ensuring cleanliness of premises; and Complying with the vaccination requirements for certain activities.
“This is only for everyone’s own good and safety. I am pleased to see that here at the Chowrasta Market to observe the conditions here.
“As I have said before, with more freedom comes more responsibility. This will always be our priority here in Penang State Government, whereby the health and public security of our people are always at the forefront,” said Jagdeep during the visit.
Jagdeep later toured the market to visit the traders and checked on SOPs himself..
