Penang Chief Minister 11 YB Jagdeep Singh Deo declared that he is back to work.
This is following his leave he had taken to attend to his medical issues.
He was at the launching of Enovix Manufacturing Plant at the Penang Science Park on the mainland to officiate the event.
“I am back !, As the Silicon Valley of the East, I am happy to have officiated the Enovix Manufacturing Plant which is the first high-volume manufacturing facility in Penang Science Park.
“Founded in 2007 in California, US, Enovix is a global player in advanced silicon battery production and it chose Penang specifically as its base outside of the US.
“This facility will see an investment of RM5.8 billion over a period of 15 years. Penang is proud that the leader in the design and manufacture of next generation silicon batteries is now part of our ecosystem.
“Penang saw its best investment within 5 years (2019-2023) since 2018 with a total of RM184.3 billion in approved manufacturing investments as compared to only RM76 billion recorded 10 years prior (2008-2018).
“The same goes to Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) with RM170 billion recorded which is a 230 percent increase during these two periods” shared Jagdeep.
