With tomorrow being the D-Day for water supplies to be temporarily ceased till Jan 14, last ditch efforts and preparations are underway for alternate solutions.

Penang Chief Minister YAB Chow Kon Yeow along with Penang Deputy Chief Minister II YB Jagdeep Singh Deo were at the City Stadium to oversee the readiness.

“We will ensure there will be water. We are here to inspect the mobilization of water tankers that have arrived in City Stadium.

“We have called for the PBA and all agencies such as MBPP, MBSB and our MPKK to prepare for the coming week. 

“We have also mobilized 99 tankers including 27 jumbo tankers and more (19 “Gajah Flexi”, 78 static tanks,18 MBPP tanks) that will provide 2.5 million litres of water which includes hundreds of water tanks located all over Penang with 36 locations in Datok Keramat,” said Jagdeep. 

He also thanked the front liners for their combined effort to come together during these trying times as one big family.
