The Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) delegation made its third stop at Kochi, Kerala State in India. They are on their 9th Edition of the Penang Roadshow to India.
The PCEB team had made stopovers in Mumbai and New Delhi earlier. The roadshow aims to further strengthen Penang’s engagement with the Indian market.
A press conference was held in Kochi in the presence of Ashwin Gunasekeran, Chief Executive Officer of the Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB), and Shahrim Tan, Deputy Director of Tourism Malaysia, Chennai.

“The year 2026 marks a defining milestone for Malaysia’s tourism industry with the launch of Visit Malaysia Year 2026 (VM2026), a national initiative aimed at enhancing Malaysia’s global visibility and accelerating tourism growth.
“For Penang, VM2026 presents a timely opportunity to deepen international market engagement, attract higher-yield visitors, and further strengthen its position as a leading destination for both leisure tourism and business events,” said Ashwin.
Later in the day, the B2B session was held with strong participation from both buyers and sellers.

The session facilitated meaningful engagements, enabling buyers to gain deeper insights into Penang’s diverse offerings and develop more compelling travel packages, while sellers had the opportunity to strengthen partnerships and explore new business opportunities in the Indian market.
The team moves on to Chennai as their next destination.
