The Olive Tree Hotel will launch its “Penang Kia Night-Heritage & Street Food Feast” promotion Saturday July, 11 2026, from 6pm to 10pm.
It invites guests to step back in time and rediscover the charm of old Penang and a nostalgic dining experience happening at Level 2, Sukkah Coffee House.
The promotion is inspired by the lively atmosphere of Penang’s traditional street food culture, the event brings together nostalgic flavours, heritage experiences, and childhood memories in one unforgettable evening. Guests will be transported back to the essence of a Penang “street feast”, celebrating the island’s rich food, traditional and multicultural identity.
The event recreates an old-school Penang experience, featuring a street-style dining concept filled with local favourites, cultural elements, and interactives activities designed for families, food lovers, and those looking to reconnect with Penang’s heritage. To complete the nostalgic journey, guests are encouraged to dress in the “Penang Old School” theme, adding a fun touch to the evening while embracing the charm of the good old days.
The Penang Kia Buffet showcases a variety of beloved dishes, combining Chinese, Malay, Indian, and Nyonya influences that represent Penang’s diverse food culture.
The menu highlights include: Old Penang Rojak Style, Pasembur, Penang Hokkien Mee, Fried Asam Laksa, Penang Char Kuey Teow, Penang Satay, Ikan Bakar & Seafood Bakar, Roti Benggali with Kaya and Butter, Assorted Nyonya Kuih, Cendol & Ice Kacang and more.
Adding to the heritage dining journey, guests can look forward to special stations including the “Penang Squatting Teow Chew Moi Station”, recreating the charm of traditional local dining culture and bringing back memories of the good old days.
The experience continues with a classic Teh Tarik station, bringing back the charm of traditional hand-pulled tea, where guests can enjoy one of Malaysia’s favourite beverages prepared with a traditional touch, adding an interactive element to celebration of Malaysia heritage.
Beyond the dining experience, guests can continue their heritage journey by exploring the Penang History Gallery, where carefully curated displays showcase the stories and heritage that have shaped Penang over the year.
