The Penang Body Building Association (PBBA) will host the Mr. Penang 2024 competition at the G Hotel Gurney on Saturday, June, 22, 2024.
Some 120 participants will be vying for coveted positions leading to additional contests such as SEA Sports, Mr. Asia, Mr. Commonwealth, Mr. Olympia and Mr. Universe.
The PBBA is an affiliate of the Malaysia BodyBuilding Federation, in conjunction with the Penang State Sports Council, organising the body building championship in men’s and women’s athletic physique divisions.
“The sports field is one of the best platforms to produce athletes who have potential, are dynamic and achieve maximum fitness levels to maintain excellence in athletics. This can be achieved through consistent and balanced training from various aspects that includes mind, physical muscles, nerves and emotions.
“The transformation process towards achieving the desired high-quality bodybuilding athletes from Penang as well as achieving success at the international level, underscores this year’s
tournament.” said Yeap Tzu Tsing, Deputy President of the PBBA.
Mr. Penang 2024 will showcase the prime physiques of Penang but hopes to generate a position as a tourist destination for the bodybuilding community throughout the world. The PBBA campaigns for bodybuilding exposure, diversity and excellence through dedication and commitment.
Its efforts to knowledge share about the sport include training
schedules, nutrition and overall healthy lifestyle, less any performance enhancing drugs.
Guest-of-honour for the finals will be the State Exco for Youth, Sports and Health, YB Daniel Gooi, along with the President of the Penang Island Bodybuilding Association, Tan Chee Kean among others.
