The Aloft Langkawi Pantai Tengah offers its special banana leaf promotion on the first Friday of every month.
On offer are the tasty chicken varuval, mutton varuval, fried fish, squid, prawns and the works.
The spread is put out by executive chef Yap Kim Hon, executive chef
and head chef, Amir.
Yap comes with 25 years in the culinary industry and fine tuned the recipe for the curry and dishes like rasam, mango chutney, pickled from the assistance of his colleagues mother.
“We had to perfect the dishes by trial and error because the spices, preparation and marination had to be right. Now, we get great reviews from guests,” said Yap.
Hotel general manager Adrian Chua added that the promotion was a spinoff from the Covid-19 pandemic era when the promotion was only for takeaway.
“Now the banana leaf promotion is a main feature at our hotel,” he added.
Guests will also get four choices of vegetables and also fried bitter gourd and appadam along with mango lassi (complimentary).
The promotion is priced at RM28 nett per person.
Check out the banana leaf promotion if you are around the area.
