New affordable home owners sharing their joy
Realizing the basic need of a ‘roof over their heads” for every family, the Penang State Government is among the first to offer the “Rent-to-Own” scheme under the affordable homes programme.
So far, under the Rent to Own programme, some 4,191 homes or 20 percent of the set target has been made available. More are in the pipeline.
Meanwhile, to-date, some 150,055 units of affordable homes have been made available overall. The price range is from RM42,000 to RM300,000.
Yet another affordable home project is the Sandilands Residences project along Jalan C.Y. Choy here.
On hand to inspect the progress of another such project was Penang caretaker government’s committee chairman for Housing, Local Government, Town and Country Planning YB Jagdeep Singh Deo along with Daniel Gooi.
“We are here to ensure that work is done according to time as we will get the homes delivered.
“We will also monitor and inspect plans of the various affordable homes and do spot checks to ensure that the project will be delivered on time,” said Jagdeep.
