A flurry of Christmas tree lighting ceremonies were held across Penang in conjunction with the up-coming Xmas celebrations.
Taking part in the wonderful tradition were the various hotels and malls here.
Taking the lead was the Eastern & Oriental Hotel which has a long tradition since 2002 of celebrating the start of December with their Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
Guests were treated to fine wine and canapes and entertained with Christmas carols. Present was general manager Ms Alison Fraser and her management team to welcome and mingle with guests.
Rasa Sayang Resort Christmas Tree lighting ceremony
Over in Batu Ferringhi, the Lone Pine, Penang, A Tribute Portfolio Resort held its Christmas tree lighting ceremony with a charity programme. Penang Deputy Chief Minister YB Jagdeep Singh Deo lended his presence and officiated the proceedings in the company of general manager Dato Gulab Mahatam Rai and his team.
The Rasa Sayang Resort welcomed guests and house guests to its gala Christmas tree lighting with general manager, Marcus Christ on hand. Guests were treated to Christmas carols and a fine dinner spread.
Citadines Connect Georgetown Xmas launch ceremony
Meanwhile, the Citadines Connect Georgetown held its first Christmas tree lighting ceremony in the presence of their Country general manager Mondi Mecja and his management team.
The DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Penang, JEN Hotel Georgetown and the Iconic Hotel also hosted guests to their Xmas tree lighting ceremony with kids from charity homes and guests lending support.

Among the malls which hosted the Xmas tree lighting were the Gurney Paragon Mall to celebrate its “Timeless Christmas” featuring a 30ft Christmas tree at their atrium.
Queensbay Mall Christmas deco
Over at the Queensbay Mall in Bayan Lepas, they offer their “Wanderlust Odyssey” theme with bright lights and decor to welcome shoppers.
The Sunway Carnival Mall in Seberang Jaya celebrates the season with its theme of “My Christmas Story: Their atrium is decked with decorations of snowmen, rabbits, reindeers, penguins and all of the season’s goodies.
