Penang CM YAB Chow Kon Yeow at the launch ceremony

In keeping with Penang Vision2030 and the advancement of home-grown talents, a new app called “MinitAgo” was launched by Penang Chief Minister YAB Chow Kon Yeow in a brief ceremony at the Hin Bus Depot  

The app hopes to empower the  community and maps ongoing happenings real-time.

In his address, Chow commended the efforts of the company to forge ahead in the digital world.

“As a first of its kind in Malaysia, MinitAgo is a Penang-based picture mapping platform that translates “LIKE” into tangible value. 

“I understand that you also hope to attract global investment and bolster our aspirations for a smart city under the auspices of the Penang2030 vision. 

“Together, let us embark on this exciting journey, as we map our moments, celebrate our gems, and build a brighter, happier, and more prosperous future for Penang.* Chow said in his address.

Also present at the ceremony was the company’s founder, Liou Hung Woei, CEO Eddy Eau, Komtar assemblyman, Teh Lai Heng, Dato Khoo Boo Lim who is also the brand ambassador, Tourism Malaysia Northern Region deputy director, Siti Hajar, Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau’s Siti Sarah among others.

“We are confident that this digital platform will serve the community and business entities locally and globally,” said Liou adding they have managed to attract local and an Australian investor for their project.

Among their current partners are the St Giles Wembley Hotel, Rasa Rasa, Hin Bus, The Top, Penang Famous Laksa among others.

 As part of the contribution to the growth of Penang’s digital landscape, MinitAgo also pledged its sponsorship of 10 “Blue Gems” for Gurney Bay valued at RM10,000.

Meanwhile, Liou attributes the development of the app to his many travels and the need for a platform that could seamlessly showcase ongoing happenings in the area.
