
The 2,534 passenger capacity Mein Schiff 6 cruise ship docked into the Swettenham Pier Cruise Terminal this morning @ 6.25am.
Mein Schiff is German for “My Ship”.
The mega ship is on its 15 day round trip journey from Singapore and will make stops at Phuket, Langkawi, Klang, Koh Samui, Laem Chabang, Bangkok, Saigon and Ho Chi Minh.
Built in 2017, it has a crew of 1,000 and is 15 decks tall. Among their facilities include the Theatre, TUI Bar, Diamant Bar, Casino, Schau Bar, restaurants, fitness centre, Spa, running track among others.
The ship is part of TUI Cruises. They also have Mein Schiff 1, Mein Schiff 2, Mein Schiff 3, Mein Schiff 4, Mein Schiff 5 and Mein Schiff 7 too.
Also in the pipeline are Mein Schiff Relax to debut this year and Mein Schiff Flow to feature in 2026.
The burgeoning cruise ship industry is also helping the local economy where tourism related industries stand to benefit.
Among them are F&B outlets, transport providers, tour guides, places of interest, souvenir shops, trishaw riders among others.
