McDonald’s Malaysia’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) project in conjunction with the up-coming Chinese New Year saw them hosting some 120 old folks’ homes across the country.

In Georgetown, they hosted 50 residents from Silver Jubilee Home to a CNY session with Yee Sang tossing, lion dance, karaoke and a fine meal at their McDonald’s Birch House.

Flying all the way from Kuala Lumpur was managing director and local operating partner,  Dato Azmir Jaafar along with Felina Lim, senior operations director and their team.

This is their 7th year hosting such gatherings to reach out to local communities.

They also presented rations to the home which was represented by Ms Jennifer Danker, the secretary of the home.

“McDonald’s has always championed familial bonds through communities. As we enter the new year, we will continue to support and care for the community, especially the old folk. This Chinese New Year outreach programme is to invoke McDonald’s “True meaning of Prosperity” and share precious memories with loved ones,” said Dato Azmir.

He also added that McDonald’s Chinese New Year outreach programmes underlined the company’s commitment as a caring neighbour  to feed and foster the communities in which it operates.

The residents of the home were clearly happy and overjoyed with the attention and love shown by the team from McDonald’s. Theyalso  joined in the karaoke and dancing session joyfully.

The CSR programme will run nationwide from Jan 15 to Feb 15, 2023 to spread joy and cheer to the old folks.
