With Visit Perlis 2024 currently underway, members of the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) Kedah/Perlis Chapter paid a courtesy call on Perlis Menteri Besar at his office recently.

The inaugural visit was led by their chairman Eugene Dass and committee members made up by Adrian Chua (Aloft Langkawi GM), Lawrence Cheah, Saiful Nizam Ahmad from Putra Brasmana Hotel and from his delegation.

They were received by Perlis Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli.

Among the topics of discussion was the on-going Visit Perlis Year 2024 and the support MAH Kedah/Perlis can render towards the success of the promotion.

Another pending issue was on how the Perlis state government can help make jetty Kuala Perlis the point of entry between tourists from Langkawi to Perlis and vice versa.

“We also discussed the cross promotion of Perlis, Langkawi and Mainland Kedah on customer sharing and the readiness of hotels in Perlis in welcoming Visit Perlis 2024.

“The state government also welcomes more hotels to be part of MAH to further tap the association’s resources in terms of training. This in turn will provide for closer collaboration between its members to increase standards and service deliveries.

In the meantime, Dass also commented on the new development on flydubai’s inaugural direct flight on Feb 10, 2024 to Langkawi International Airport (PIA).

“Our chapter is eagerly awaiting the new flights as we look at this in improving our member hotels occupancy and by bringing in more international tourists and once again reinforcing Langkawi as a choice destination internationally.

“Hotels have been ready and continuously upgrading its service and facilities to cater the influx of international guests,” he added.
