In his welcoming address, Dato Gulab shared the club’s upcoming collaboration with the Lions Club of Alor Star to raise RM1.2 million for a Mobile Eye Clinic bus.

“This facility will travel to rural communities across Penang, Kedah and Perlis to provide vital eye health screenings. Early detection of eye conditions can also signal underlying kidney diseases. This will be the first service of its kind in Penang,” he said, highlighting the club’s forward-looking approach to community healthcare.

Earlier, in her address, YB Lim commended the Lions Club of George Town for its impactful and worthy programmes.

“Over the years, your contributions have become an integral part of Penang’s social landscape. This year also marks 62 years of continuous service by the Lions Club of George Town. Congratulations and thank you for your unwavering commitment to the community,” she said.

YB Lim also took time to visit the various booths set-up by the various NGOs, government agencies and other organisations.
