Japanese soul singer Nao Yoshioka is set to make her debut performance at the Northern International Audio & Visual Show (NIAVS) 2025, held at the Setia Spice Convention Centre from April 25 to 27, 2025.
Born in Osaka, Nao was influenced by legendary artists like Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin, shaping her distinctive style and vocal prowess.

Her musical journey began in school bands, and today, she is an internationally recognized soul performer. Even her sisters are actively involved in the entertainment industry.
Her single “Make the Change” received critical acclaim, earning praise from veteran soul musicians and Grammy-winning artists such as Gordon Chambers, Eric Roberson, and Khari Mateen.
With over a decade in the industry, Nao has graced top venues across the Netherlands, London, Paris, Jakarta, and beyond. Her soulful voice captivates audiences worldwide.
“I’m excited about my performance in Penang. I’ve heard wonderful things about the city, and I can’t wait to experience its culture, heritage, and of course, the local cuisine,” she shared.
The Northern International Audio & Visual Show 2025 promises an immersive experience, featuring the latest advancements in sound, Hi-Fi and lighting technology, along with groundbreaking industry personalities.

Enthusiasts from Malaysia and beyond—including visitors from Singapore, Bangkok, and Jakarta—are expected to attend.
Exhibitors from Singapore, China, Lithuania, Taiwan, and Denmark will showcase their innovations, while esteemed brands from the USA, Japan, South Korea, Canada, Sweden, Italy, and Switzerland will be present, making it a truly global event.
Additionally, the gathering will also showcase home-grown Penang talents, namely, Tonal Alchemy led by Wilson Quah, Northern Jazz Unit by Penang Jazz Society, The Harmonious band, A Surprise (2-piece band represented by persons with special needs), Gareth MC & Friends and DJ JazzieJay to spice up the party with up tempo numbers.
“Music has always been a powerful force that brings people together, fosters creativity and strengthens cultural identity. In Penang where arts and culture thrive, we believe live performances add a unique vibrancy to our event, creating an immersive experience for attendees while showcasing the incredible depth of local musical talent,” said Wilson Teoh, the director of Gryphon Production.
The showcase runs daily from 10am to 9pm, with free entry for all visitors.
