IJM Land Berhad (“IJM Land”), the developer of THE LIGHT Waterfront Penang, wishes to inform the public of scheduled infrastructure works and new road access updates as part of the advancement of The Light Interchange development.
1. Temporary Lane Closures for Pedestrian Bridge Dismantling
• Affected Route: George Town-bound lanes of Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu Expressway
• Date: 16 – 27 June 2025
• Time: 10:00 PM – 5am (nightly)
These closures are necessary to safely dismantle the existing pedestrian bridge. Works will be carried out during off-peak hours to minimise disruption. Road users are advised to follow traffic instructions and remain cautious when approaching the affected area.
2. New Traffic Access Points Effective 1 July 2025
a. Opening of Elevated Road from Jalan Tunku Kudin (Bayan Lepas-bound) to THE LIGHT Waterfront Penang
This new elevated route will provide direct and seamless access for motorists travelling from the Green Lane area into THE LIGHT Waterfront Penang.
b. Opening of Permanent Exit Road (Bayan Lepas-bound) from THE LIGHT Waterfront Penang.
The current temporary exit will be permanently closed and replaced by the new permanent exit. All necessary signages have been put in place to guide motorists through the new route.
